Mary - The Inspiration

I brought the latest issue of ELLE to read on my journey to The Netherlands and the ELLE runway edit can with it. It was interesting to see all of the new designer collections and i was particualy impressed with Mary Katrantzous collection. I have experience in dealing with print from designing at college and i would like to become a print designer and so Mary's collection really inspired me.  

 

I love how the designer combines beautiful print with interesting designs. Some of her clothes designs are a little extreme however as the print is so stunning it needs designs that are equally elaborate to carry them off. I would like to create my own prints and take inspiration from previous collections for my clothes designs in the way that this designer has.

Boutiques and Bagels

Two weeks in The Netherlands was like living the dream and i miss it so much. I miss spending the day walking around cute fabric shops searching for unique materials and then stopping in cafes in the afternoon to drink hot chocolate and people watch. 

I found the nicest fabric shop in the town of Wassengner where i was staying. It had endless amounts of fabrics and accessories it made me think about opening my own place id love to be a designer and have a boutique. 

Touch of Colour

Started to add colour to the pattern i created whilst on holiday in Amsterdam. The paint has taken away most of the detail so it doesn't look so impressive but i hope to add other colours to the pattern.

The Galaxy

Dark Velvet

 Modeling the purple top that i brought for £1.99 in a local charity shop styled with tones of vintage looking rings and a statement necklace. I applied quite heavy makeup to get a grungy look to show that the model can pull off allot of different looks.
